Back from Disney

We had a great time and have many stories to tell. The weather was warmer than normal and there has been no rain in the last 3 weeks in that area. The lows were in the low 70's and the highs were in the mid 90's. We used a lot of sunscreen while we were there. This photo was taken of Pal Mickey and Princess Minnie. We bought Pal Mickey before we left as they have discontinued making him. Pal Mickey can be used at all of the parks to tell you about the rides, parades, silly jokes, etc. It was fun to carry him through the parks each day.

We had one really exciting thing happen to us. The theme for the parks this year is "What are you celebrating?". They gave us anniversary buttons and told us to wear them all week. We kept getting told "Happy Anniversary" by the staff and other guests. The day before our anniversary, we headed to Epcot for the opening ceremony. We planned to get in the mad rush for Soarin. It is a ride that originates from the Disneyland California Adventure park. The ride is a hang glider that takes you over several views from California. We made it into the park and were waiting at a roped off area to head for Soarin. Several cast members came out and were talking to us. One asked what day it was, and several of us answered back Cinco De Mayo. He said what else. No one could come up with an answer. He asked a few more questions and then turned to Kurt and me and said, "Happy Anniversary. Today is Soarin's 4th birthday. You will be the first family on Soarin today." He took us up a special sidewalk while everyone else had to rush for the ride. Kurt and I got to ride all by ourselves. It put us in a bit of shock for the rest of the day. What a thrill! I will post more stories later, but need to go get the dogs from the kennel now.
