Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge - pt 1

We tried a new destination for our August vacation and flew from GI to Knoxville, TN. We picked up our rental car (not a Saab, but a cool Rav 4). We then drove to Gatlinburg and stayed at the Bearskin Lodge. Gatlinburg is a cute little ski village with a lot of shopping, dining and touristy things. We rode a gondola up to the Ober Gatlinburg ski lodge, and then took the ski lift to the top of the mountain. A bear had done some damage to one of the buildings at the top of the lift and was seen by others as we were riding up. Between my fear of heights and the thought of seeing a bear up close, I didn't have the best smile in this picture.

We also visited the Stars Cars Museum in downtown Gatlinburg. Kurt got his photo in the batmobile from the 1960's tv show and I got my photo in the General Lee.
