Lots going on

This weekend has been busy for us. We went to Hastings on Friday night to look for patio furniture and for the Cottonwood Festival at the Brickyard park. We had never been there before and really enjoyed the park. They had lots of craft, arts and food booths set up. We also got to watch a lumberjack show. It wasn't quite as good as the one in Branson, but we still enjoyed ourselves. We left before the concert began, but it looked like there was going to be a large gathering for the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Yesterday, we went to Kearney to look at Target for patio furniture and then we were going to go to Ravenna for Annevar days. That didn't happen though. We made it to Kearney and shopped at Target, Ace, Walmart, and Menards. We narrowed down our choices on patio furniture. Would we buy the red cedar patio set at Menards, the ceramic patio tiled table at Ace in Hastings, or the metal patio table with small glass inserts at Ace in Grand Island? We decided we would drive from Kearney to Hastings to look at the table in Hastings one more time before choosing. After looking at that table, we decided to buy the patio set from Ace in Grand Island. We were worried it would be gone after we finally decided which one to get, because that is usually our luck. We drove back quickly, and got the patio set. We had to take the floor model that was assembled because that was the last one. We didn't mind it being assembled, but that caused a problem with how to haul it. The store said they could deliver it for us, and they brought it to us within an hour of purchasing it. You just can't get better service than that. Today, we had the kids give Kurt some Father's Day cards and a DVD. This afternoon, we will go to the Ethnic Festival for lunch and then out to the river to fish from the bank. Due to all of the rain, the sand bars are barely visible in spots so no need to leave the bank to fish. The dogs will have to stay home with the water so high. It has been many years since the river was this full, and it is definitely a welcomed sight. Next weekend, Mike is coming home to fish with us and we may try to float the river in our rafts.
