All tired out
We had a nice weekend at the river, but everyone is worn out. Friday, we put the poles in the river, set up the tent, and decided to sleep in town as it was really hot. Saturday, we ran the lines, caught a large turtle and a large catfish (fed 4 people), and slept down there. Sunday, we caught another fish, but sent him down the river because he had been dead awhile. We ate fish and fried chicken later in the day, played pitch, and came home to clean up things around here. Saturday night was gorgeous. There were very few clouds, lots of stars, and enough of a breeze to keep the bugs away. Mike slept in the box of the pickup, as it has a shell on it. Kurt and I slept in our tent. We woke up to rain on our faces. We both thought, we will never get out of here with all this rain. The rain kept dripping down on us and it was hard to sleep. A few hours later, we looked outside to see how much rain was coming down, and it wasn't raining outside. What?!?!? How could it be that we were getting soaked in our sleeping bags? We had the tent windows open during the day, and it was hot and humid. We closed the windows before going to sleep, and trapped the heat and humidity in the tent. Therefore when it got cold on the outside, we had rain on the inside. We can laugh about it now, but it sure wasn't funny at 2:30 in the morning. Last night, we went to bed early. I fell asleep at 7:30 and Kurt came to bed at 8:30. We slept soundly until the alarm at 5:30 this morning. Benji and Bailey had a great time at the river too. They are laying on the floor soundly sleeping.
